Project Overview
Project Lippmann 3252+ Mobile Jaw crusher 2020 Build involves meeting with the client to simplify and improve the drive system on the mobile Jaw crusher.
What Was Done
- Removed Diesel Engine: The 500HP diesel engine was removed.
- Replaced with Hydraulic Power Pack: A 20FT hydraulic container power pack with an electric motor and hydraulic drive with a soft starter control cabinet was installed.
- Main Crusher Drive: A 250KW electric motor was supplied and fitted for the main crusher drive, used with a Danfoss Series 90 250CC closed loop hydraulic pump.
- Feeder & Discharge Conveyor Drive: A 110KW electric motor was supplied and fitted for the feeder and discharge conveyor drive, used with a Danfoss Series 90 100CC closed loop hydraulic pump and a Series 45 load sensing pump 145CC.
- Control System: PVG32 proportional valves were used to simplify the control system.
- Crusher Main Frame: Supplied to the crusher main frame.
- Jacking Legs & Transmission: A Cummins QSB6.8 common rail diesel engine was supplied and fitted to supply the jacking legs for setup/pack up and two Danfoss Series 90 55CC transmissions for tramming the machine.
- Crusher Bearing Adjuster: A simplified design crusher bearing adjuster was coupled to a PARKER VOAC F12-250CC bent axis motor.
Outcome
- Improved Simplicity: The control system was improved by using a simplified electrical system sourced locally in Australia.
- Improved Serviceability: Serviceability was enhanced by removing the large diesel engine and replacing it with a power pack and bearing carrier with a bent axis motor combination.
- Improved Production: More power was made available to the crusher, and an anti-bogging feature was added to allow the crusher to jog in reverse to clear blockages and then resume forward by flicking a switch.
- Improved Fuel Consumption: Fuel consumption in tonnes crushed per hour was improved by using an electric drive, saving 35% on fuel compared to the diesel engine that was removed.
